Our Mission

Sahara's mission is to improve the quality of life for women and their families and reduce the incidence of domestic violence in the Asian communities of Miami-Dade County, through public awareness, education and advocacy.

How Sahara can help those in need

Sahara offers the following culturally appropriate services in several languages:
 
  • Support and guidance in getting the help a victim needs.
  • Educational forums, presentations, workshops, and speakers on Domestic Violence.
  • Referrals to legal services, medical care, health care and shelter.
  • Interpretation and translation services.

Founded in 2005, Sahara is a joint project of the Asian American Advisory Board of and the Women's Fund of Miami-Dade.
